When employees in a distributed workforce request paid time off (PTO), it too often depends on paper requests that might get misplaced. The employee assumes it’s handed in and likely approved. The supervisor often didn’t get it or has to deal with conflicting requests. Payroll sometimes doesn’t get the request and either doesn’t pay the employee or pays them regular time, without decrementing the PTO balance. PTO numbers have a direct effect on the bottom line. WalTer and WebPunch now allow employees to view their PTO balance and make requests. These requests can be viewed and approved from WalTer or WebPunch by a supervisor with permission. Everything is visible in Blueforce and payroll includes the correct PTO category on the employee paycheck.
